Message from Mahmud
My name is Saleh Jarhom, a 40-year-old former primary school teacher from Gaza. I cared about my job and my students. I have a wonderful family with four children. Ahmad, 14, dreams of being a soccer player; Bahaa, 11, wants to be a YouTuber; Abdul Rahman, 8, dreams of being a doctor; and Jolie, 3, dreams of advocating for women's rights.
"Our lives have been changed forever by the war. We were forced to flee north Gaza with nothing but the clothes on our backs, and reached Rafah, where we slept on the streets and found a small tent. With unhealthy food, unsafe water and no proper sanitation, life has become a struggle to meet basic needs. My children travel dangerous routes to fetch water, while their education and future hang in the balance.
My wife, Khud, has serious health issues, including endometriosis and a second uterine prolapse, but has no access to medical care in war-torn Gaza. She urgently needs surgery and we need the funds to evacuate to Egypt for treatment.
I have lost many family members, including my sister and her family, which has affected us deeply. My elderly parents are overwhelmed with grief and hardship.
We are seeking donations to cover our living expenses and my wife's medical evacuation. Your help is essential to our survival and finding peace.
